Okay so I just bought a Zotac 980 ti amp extreme from newegg for $980 AUD a few days ago, and now this morning they've announced the 1080. I dont want to buy the 1080 as I dont care for a 20% increase in performance, Ill rather just wait for the next generation. But the price for the 980 ti's will drop soon right? So should I return my 980 ti to newegg and buy it again once the price is lower? Do any of you have an idea how much theyll drop the price of the 980 ti's?

If the card is new in the box and unwrapped... but check and make sure that you do not get hit with a restocking fee... that would negate any savings you are trying to leverage...

What???? Are u joking? Economics should tell you Price/performance is THE dominant metric AND that technology pricing is very elastic in the face of disruptive tech. If that guy can wait a few months...why not save the money? It's simply a time/value calculation on his part. Is it worth him to send it back (assuming store policy allows it) and save 20%+ in a few months?

I can't say...but to think prices will remain static is bizarre.

Well, they always remain static.
