Question Should I sell my GT1030 4GB DDR4 and buy a GT 1O30 2GB GDDR5?

That also depends on what CPU and specs you have so watching these vids is not really big help because there compareing CPU with it because every computer is different

there is a big difference between DDR4 GT 1030 and a GDDR5 GT 1030.

sell your DDR4 1030 and get the GDDR5 version.

But is the "upgrade" worth the cost? If upgrading, wouldn't it make sense for a stronger GPU?

The difference is there, but still a low-end GPU.

depends on the budget of the OP.

a GT 1030 is quite cheap anyway. Assuming he can sell his DDR4 GT 1030 for a decent price. This will almost feel like swapping for something better.

of course, plenty of gpu's out there better than a 1030. The question is if the OP is willing to spend more?

DDR4 is so much slower than GDDR5.
even if the DDR4 1030 is 4GB, it is still much worse than a GT 1030 GDDR5.

DDR4 4GB reach only 40+ fps, while the GDDR5 2GB reach 70+ fps

I have the GDDR5 version and it's really stronger than GDDR4 I played several games but that in 2020 ~ 2021... "upgrading" a GT 1030 GDDR4 to GDDR5 in 2023 is a waste of money, it's much more worth saving money for a better GPU made for games like a GTX 1050Ti or even better.
In my opinion GT 1030 in 2023 is a GPU just to have video in case the CPU doesn't have integrated video. The games are too heavy now to even try 720p.

advice is to save up and get your computer upgraded more so that you can start playing games and enjoy them more instead of spending money on gpu that your likely going to upgrade again or buy an xbox or playstation
