Should I upgrade my ddr2 to ddr3?

Hello guys my question is if I upgrade my ddr2 to ddr3 ram? Note that my pc have a quad core q8300 and I just want to upgrade my ram to another motherboard but with the same parts, that is LGA 775.
From a ddr2 333 mhz Kingston to a ddr3 Kingston 1600 mhz.
So is it woth it? I mean do I get more power and do I get better FPS on games?
I have the other motherboard but only need to buy the ram! So....?

Not really, I'd put the money intended for new mobo and DRAM into something more current like Haswell or Skylake....not ideal but even moving to an AMD rig 8320/8350 would be a better move

Yes, but I only want to buy a 4gb ram, I have the other motherboard that support ddr3 ram and my cpu! Do i get more performance or not?
