I currently have 2x8 DDR4 2133Mhz HyperX ram. My CPU is a 3700x. Been hearing that it isn't the ideal speed for my cpu, but is it really worth spending 100 bucks on upgrading to 3000Mhz+. Should I rather buy 16gb more?
RTX 2080tiWhat is the rest of your set up? And what do you use it for?
get 3600 ram plsI currently have 2x8 DDR4 2133Mhz HyperX ram. My CPU is a 3700x. Been hearing that it isn't the ideal speed for my cpu, but is it really worth spending 100 bucks on upgrading to 3000Mhz+. Should I rather buy 16gb more?
Ok, I'll upgrade. Would this do the trick? https://www.komplett.no/product/113...r/corsair-vengeance-rgb-pro-ddr4-3600mhz-16gbShort answer is yes. Especially since your memory is 2133mhz. Here is a great article to show you the difference in ram with the 3000 series. You will notice they don't even start as low as your ram speed so you can extrapolate up from your ram speed. https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3508-ryzen-3000-memory-benchmark-best-ram-fclk-uclock-mclock
Does 18 work? 16 costs double.Go with a kit that has cas latency 14 or 16.
But not twice the price good right?18 should be fine just not quite as good.
