Hi guys.

My GPU is broken, so I think that this is time to buy a new PC (my current one is 4 years old). Or upgrade maybe?

Here are my specs:
CPU: Intel i5 6500
MB: MSi B150A Gaming Pro
GPU: ASUS STRIX R9 390 OC 8GB Gaming
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 1 x 8GB 2133 MHz
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G3
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
SSD: ADATA SP550 120 GB

PC is mainly for gaming, but I do other staff like recording and mixing music and i5 6500 has a little problem with virtual plugins.

What do you think? Should I only upgrade GPU + RAM (8 is not good) or go four GPU, MB, CPU,RAM? I can use PSU and storage untis from the old one.

Want to hear your opinion, thanks for every reply.

Solution
With your budget I'd opt for a newer platform and reuse the PSU & HDD (Maybe case depending on the model). Disregard the error message as the MSI MAX boards ship with a updated BIOS.

Edit: As long as the MSI 2070S Ventus is new or has a warranty then it would be a good choice.

WildCard 999 has a very good list there.

This next one is very similar, just with a few changes, but the basic core of the build is the same:

Guys thank you for your input. I'm long time user of Intel CPUs, because I hada bad experience with AMD products, but are these Ryzen CPUs worth it? What about temperature and reliability? Because every AMD product I had in my hands had big temperature issues right from the start.

I been using my Ryzen 5 3600 every day since end of July 2019 and soo far, with my aftermarket cooler and basic motherboard (which are very budget) I had no problems at all.

If you wana go the intel way, I may post you a list with the i7 9700K which I really wont advice you to buy it cause of the lack of hyperthreading, but since the Core i5 are a NO WAY! right now theres no much too choose from.
I feel the i9 9900K is the only cpu from intel that its worth your money. But we would have to cheap down a lot on the GPU to add that one to the list.

There you go, of course if you can spend ~110 more, you could get the same RTX 2070 Super, and + ~65 more will get you an RTX 2060 Super.

AMD is way better now then it was in the FX days (ran way too hot and poor performance per core). Even the stock coolers are sufficient to keep the CPU's well within safe limits. I had someone the other day posting on here that had a Ryzen 3600, using the stock cooler with a 34C room temp and was staying under 80C while gaming (which is safe).

Wildcard is right about that too, just to be clear, I had to replace the stock cooler beacuse I just couldn't stand the pitch (noise) the stock cooler did, I have a very good hearing and I just couldn't take it.

But yeah, after I work a bit the case fans on my really budget case, the stock cooler was enough to keep the R5 3600 in place.

Is just that the aftermarket cooler I got is way more pleasent sound wise.

And yeah, the Core i7 9700K and the likes (K ones) don't come with any type of stock cooler.

Hmm I see that Intel si not a good choice right now. But I'm still feeling litte unsecure about AMD...I'm going to think about it.

One more question: is there big difference in terms of real performance between RTX 2060/RTX 2070 or RTX 2060 S/RTX 2070 S ?
