Should I use 1 sick of 8gb or 2 sticks of 4gb?

I'm building a mini itx pc and the mobo only has two ram slots so I can't afford 16gb right now but I'll want to upgrade to 16 sometime in the future so it would be cheaper for me to get 1 8gb stick and just buy the same 8gb stick later. Would this slow down my computer at all or should I use 2 4gb sticks and then drop like $130 for a 16gb set

2 sticks are better, faster speed

I don't think it'd noticeably slow it down too much, the hard drive/cpu are more likely to be the things limiting loading times, I'd personally go for the 8gb stick so you'd be able to upgrade later

if you are having extra slots, then you should get 2 x 4GB sticks, its more faster than single 8GB stick...

But then When I would upgrade to 16 gb I would have to cash out $140-150 instead of $70 for 16gb

Go ahead with the 1x8GB, be aware there may be issues when you upgrade by adding another 8GB stick, if so give me a shout
