Question New PSU IB250MH from a ThinkCentre M710t ?

Hello. I've already red some post about this issue, but I really don't know what to do with my problem, therefore I'm asking for help.

I saved from the waste 2 fully working ThinkCentre M710t computers.
Surprisingly, I found out they were better than my PC so I took out one of those mobos, put it in a big case and assembled everything. I did this with both the IB250MH. I connected the front panel with the new case's switch on connector and the reset connector. I turn on the pc, the fan works, the computer boots; also the buttons for power on and reset on the case work. Now, since the IB250MH connects to the psu through a 10 pin connector, I bought a 10 pins to standard atx 24 pins, to install a more powerful psu,which I absolutely need for my 4gb graphic card (which I didn't install YET).

I checked the adapter on different websites, and they all look the same. I checked its wires with a tester, to be sure the electric current isn't interrupted. Then I installed one of my old but working psu, then tested the other one (1st is 400w, 2nd 600w). Now I amnot sure about that (several weeks have passed since) but if I remember well, the pc booted at least once with the 400w psu. BUT now, with both new psu, there is no sign of activity: no fans, no leds, obviously no boot.

But If I put back the original psu, everything goes back to normal. If i connect the 400w / 600w psu to a different mobo,they both work. Can't be a broken common component like RAM or disk, since they work with the old original psu. I didn't change anything between the 2 (hundred) tests, always same condition, and I also tested both the IB250MH. I have the impression, but I'm not a technician, that the electricity doesn't reach the motherboard

I really don't understand what's going on... I red that somebody already made use of the above mentioned adapter, and it was working... Buying other components is not an option, can anybody help me?

What are the makes and model of both the PSU's you're trying to diagnose the Frankenstein prebuilt with? Asking specifically about the 400W and 600W unit. How old are both those units? Correct the motherboard from the prebuilt is proprietary. Can you include the adapter you speak of?

If I were you, I'd have sourced a brand new PSU for the prebuilt and left the form factor to your prebuilt, intact.

If I were you, I'd have sourced a brand new PSU for the prebuilt and left the form factor to your prebuilt, intact.

The 2nd one is newer, but both are fully tested and working on another pc: the corsair powered an i7, 4 ssd+2mech HD, the 4gb graphic card and other peripherals without problem

The GPU is AMD radeon 550 4GB, it needs at least a 500w psu, and no, it doesn't work with less, I already fried another psu on another mobo.
For the m710t there aren't around psu of the same form as the originalone with enough Watts, I already searched for it for some time before, only found a 400/450w in a Chinese online shop.

Those aren't exactly what we call reliable PSU's.

The GPU is AMD radeon 550 4GB, it needs at least a 500w psu, and no, it doesn't work with less, I already fried another psu on another mobo.

You should be able to run off a 450W reliably built PSU. You might have a PSU issue, or there's a short in your build.

Anyway it is the same, except from the origin., and yes, the connector on the mobo is proprietary, 10 pins.

But they do work on the other motherboard (which by the way, is still Lenovo, and makes use of another adapter (14x24 pins).

My graphics card is a bit different from the one you linked, bigger with 2 fans, Powercolor (I forgot to mention)
I read somewhere that 500w are a requirement to use that graphics card, and as I said, I already bought and fried another psu with less watts on an hp pc , I can't spend other money, and I don't want to waste $200 on a budget psu which will melt down like the prevous one.

The 2 motherboards are currently outside the case, so yes, I checked them to look fo r burns or suspicious parts, but everything looks fine. I also always use gloves.
