Hello, I have a PC build I am building (first build) and I will list the specs here:
Mobo - ASUS - TUF GAMING X570-PLUS
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 32 gb ddr4
PSU - Corsair RM1000x
CPU - AMD - Ryzen 9 5900X 4th Gen 12-core, 24-threads
Along with a 2 tb m.2 and a 360mm corsair h150i aio

My question is, should I wait for the 40 series gpu's to release? or buy a 30 series. Also wondering if I should assemble the pc now considering the 40 series is still a little while away

40 series most likely will not be out till sometime next year. Keep in mind that AM5 comes out, at the end of the month as well.

Not sure I would build a Ryzen 5000 right this second, only a few weeks away from Ryzen 7000. You might convince me on an Alder Lake build with the expectation of dropping in a Raptor Lake when that launches.

As for GPUs, not like an RTX3080 will suddenly become super slow, in fact it may already be priced appropriately to the "expected" launch price of the 4070. With scalpers and low early availability, it may be very difficult to get a 40 series card at launch. Took me about 6 weeks to get a desirable GTX1080 at launch.

I will probably just purchase a ryzen 7000 cpu a few months after launch, but for now I think I will be fine with 5900x especially with the price drop and thank you for the gpu advice

That means a new motherboard and memory though and all that comes with swapping that out. If I were buying Ryzen 5000 now, I would probably wait for what follows 7000 to justify it. If the rumors are true, 3d vcache versions of the 7000 series aren't far off either.

Also, I don't know if you are near a microcenter, but a friend of mine told me that he was talking to one of their employees the other day and they told him they are starting to do pre orders and that there should be a good discount on the motherboards when you purchase a cpu.

Nah I'm not near one sadly, closest one to me is ages away. But I'll most likely just buy the motherboard and cpu upon the post 7000 series launch like Eximo said

Yeah, that's probably the best option, thanks for the input
