I had yet to hook up all my consoles to the TV when I took the pics. But I've done that already. Everything looks nice.

That's my newest upgrades so far is the desk with a triple monitor mount, and the 8 cubby hole thing I'm using as an entertainment center.

YAAAYYY!!!! Another update folks.

Upgrading from this....

To this....

1080ti.jpg

The EVGA isn't as pretty as my STRIX, but it's a better card regardless and I'm gonna miss my STRIX when I sell it, but that's life yo. Got the 1080ti for $475 so worth it.

Just upgraded my EVGA GTX 750 ti 2gb FTW to the Asus RX 580 4gb Dual (got it for $169.99 at a local Microcenter).

Next upgrade (11/23/18 or whenever it's easier to travel to Boston) will be the LG 34WK650-W (Freesync!).

Yeah, going to swap it out this week and then use the 8086K in my other machine eventually. (Changing out the 8700K I have in that one)

Already have the new BIOS for it, will update that before installing it.

I'm jealous! I'm getting a 9600K on 12/7/18 to replace my G5400 so the difference should be pretty significant.

Yeah, that will make a massive difference. :D

Are you still running that CX550M?

Or are you planning on changing that out?

Watch for deals on PSU's, should be some good ones coming up on good units.

I still have the CXM but I may be changing it out as every once in awhile I hear a sound that sounds like a HDD spinning yet there's none in the system and a system I built for a friend has the same PSU and no noise. If it's the PSU then I'm going to RMA it and grab a G3 550W or Seasonic Focus, last thing I need is a PSU damaging my new system. Then once it's RMA'd I'll sell it to my friend as he wants me to build a school system for his kids, was going to use the G5400 for that system as well. Another semi mistake I made was buying the Cryorig M9i, it works great for the G5400 but I doubt it'll do too well for the 9600K, at least once overclocked but I'll probably leave it stock for now.

Yeah, I would hate to see your system get cooked due to the PSU.

Good call on the Seasonic Focus or EVGA G3 (I think the G2 is a better unit though).

That cooler will struggle with the 9600K, likely one of the Dark Rock 3 or 4's or a Cyborg H7 or even one of the Noctua's.

I like the G2's as well but I don't know if the Cambridge Microcenter carries them. As for the cooler I think I'm going to try the Cryroig M9i first as I'll already be buying the 9600K & more then likely a newer PSU and I'm on a somewhat strict budget. As long as it can keep the CPU under 70C in gaming loads then I'll be happy with it, plus I got some MX4 which should be slightly better then the stock stuff. Then another day will be the Dark Rock 4 and 5ghz+ OC :) .

Sounds like a good plan. :D

+1 on the Focus over especially the G3. The G2 for the right price it would be a tossup but I feel the quality went down on the G3.

And yeah i prefer Prime too but budget wise they can be excessive (I love mine though).

Both of my former X650's died , the fans quit.

Strange... :??:

Quality is the same, one is Semi-Modular while the other is full modular.

The FOCUS Gold is semi-modular, the FOCUS Plus Gold is fully modular. They are based on the same platform but the Plus has a better warranty (10 vs 7) and hybrid fan.
