Shut down freezing?!

Hey guys

When i shut my pc down it just freeze, i cant do anything, the only thing i can do is to turn it off by pushing the start button.

PLEAS HELP ITS SO ANNOYING?!?!?!?

k..
goto command prompt and type "chkdsk /r "
this will scan ur system for modified system file and replace it with original one...
note:-This will require an operating system dvd/cd copy

then get an softwear named glarry utilities which will help u do the same,
jst open it,
click on advanced tool tab,
then click on repair system file under system status section,
this will scan for modified sustem file an undo changes made to them ...

Hey, I had a very similar problem once. My desktop was hooked up wirellessly through a network adapter and the adapter was keeping it from shutting down. Usually when your computer isn't shutting down it is because there are running processes in your task manager that it can't kill. My network adapter kept trying to stay connected as the computer was trying to close it.

However, if its due to processes, the computer won't necessarily freeze but it will hang on the shutdown screen. It will appear that its thinking although it won't ever actually shut down :/
