Question Side buttons on mouse doesn't respond inconsistently in games

For a few weeks, the side buttons on my mouse just stop working for a few seconds while gaming, or the response is delayed by a few seconds. The left and right click as well as the scroll wheel works fine all the time. This problem seems to only appear while gaming, and it interferes a lot with my gaming experience. I know the problem is not with the mouse because I have tried with a brand new mouse and the problem still appears. It could be with the Logitech G Hub software since i am using a G502 Hero mouse and I have keys programmed to the side buttons, but I do not know how to solve it. I have played only COD Warzone and COD Cold War and the problem still appears on both games. Any suggestions or advice?

I tried removing and reinstalling the mouse software. Though my mouse still doesnt respond sometimes in games, it now happens less often. Any other suggestions to completely fix the problem?
