I've just 'upgraded' my daughter's computer with a cheap facebook marketplace effort, took a hit on the case not having either side panels in order to secure a good price for the components...
Irritatingly the case itself is old and no longer sold and finding specific or suitable side panels seems impossible with my limited knowledge of such things.

I'm left with two options, either I replace the case entirely and transplant the components (which leaves me in the sea of cases and compatibility related headaches) or I find currently available side panels that will fit an older case (which leave me in the sea of side panels and sizing/installation headaches).

Please, please, kind people of Tom's Hardware... help a well-intentioned but flailing father out...

The case currently used appears to be one of these https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/legacy-products/cases/cm-690-ii-ver-2/#image-Item1
(Based on the less than helpful code on a sticker on the back of the case)

Nice option but like you say, finding one does seem to be an issue lol!

Any thoughts about this one being able to fit everything?

It's an ATX case, so the motherboard should fit. There doesn't seem to be much front ventilation though, so temperatures will be pretty bad.

Here's a list from PC Parts Picker that might be helpful as well:

I'd look for something with a mesh front .

Sadly it's much more expensive over here lol (£92 so $120!!), it's good to see alternatives that I can use to start building up an idea of the key criteria I'll need for my 'transplant'... do you mind me asking what specifics you used in locating that one?
Things I've noticed so far with my lame efforts are terms like 'mid-tower' and motherboard compatibility?

The Eclipse P400A is not out of stock in the UK. Mesh front, not expensive, has hard drive cage. You don't mention an optical drive, so I'm assuming you do not have one (this case doesn't have an external 5.25" bay).

Thank you so much everyone, starting to build up a real idea of what I should be looking at and have some great options to focus on now... as suspected DSzymborski, an optical drive isn't part of the build.
The cooling is primarily via the corsair hydro system, not 100% on the model but it is a single fan, looks like the H75:

The Eclipse is a little more than I was hoping to pay (but also realise that I might need to cough up a little more to ensure I have an easier time in the long run)... still a solid option though, it's on the short list lol

Oooh, the silverstone in white looks nice... I'm close to pulling the trigger but before I do, any thoughts on a cheap/cheerful one like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ionz-KZ10W...a3c70&pd_rd_wg=zbhSQ&pd_rd_i=B08P37JGKF&psc=1
(Note, this is function over form... definitely not a 'show build' lol)
It seems to be ok for the price. There are more reviews on the version without included fans on Amazon, you might want to read through them:

I did start at the fanless one then navigated to the one with fans so that she can have additional cooling AND rgb front fans (I don't who likes shiny things more... my daughter or me!). I think I'm going to go for that one as this initial budget option, later in the year I want to start a full build for myself so the information you've all given me today is invaluable in making a smart choice at the beginning of that project too.

Thank you everyone... I'm at a loss about which answer to flag as 'best', you've all given different but valid views and ideas lol!
