Hi,
My sign in button isn't working and keeps redirecting me to the lockscreen wallpaper every time I press it.

I tried safe mode and it didn't work, I did a system error check, nothing.

This started after I removed my windows password entirely.

What do I do, I've tried everything...
Here's a video of the problem

I switched to a local user profile, removed the password and switched to a Microsoft account again without setting up a new one. I reinstalled Windows, but I'd still like to know if I could do it again and not make this happen. Maybe test it out on a virtual machine?

i think it would be best to test it in a VM

So these steps you took?
(MSA = Microsoft Account)
  1. switched to a local user (who I assume has admin rights)
  2. removed password of the MSA user on PC.
  3. logon to MSA account without setting password.

logon screen checks the password offered versus whats on server, if you offering nothing it probably loops

so how is supposed to know its you?

why are you doing this? You aren't going to get away with having no password on a Microsoft logon
You can set PC up to auto logon, I think that is closest you get.

Yes, the steps are correct.
I'm trying to make my PC start via Wake on WAN, but in order to do so I can't have a password, otherwise I can't take remote control of it afterwards.
I'd still like to keep the benefits of a MS account such as sync and stuff.
That's why I'm doing it...
