Hi,

I'm trying to find a very silent case.

I've been using the Antec Sonata III for 3 years now and i really like the design. But I also saw the Coolmaster Sileo 500 that seems to ve very well isolated. If i could actually get the design and dust filter from the Sonata and the sound isolation of the Sileo 500, i'd be in heaven hehe

Any recommendations ?

Oh well...

I don't like the lights and stuff on PC, that's why i'm looking for something very bland and quiet (to forget it's exsitence basically hehe). Different people = different opinions !

So far, the Silverstone FT02 and the Fractal R2 have problems with heat (minor problems i would say). However, i cannot find any review for the Lian Li PC-B10. Anybody could point me out some benchmarks/extensive reviews ? From what i saw from other reviews, Lian Li didn't seem to have major problems with heat at all with their others cases hehe

Sounds like you want a classic black pc case that is quiet. The problem is going to be the quiet part. It is not impossible to achieve. However, it is difficult to achieve when excellent ventilation, airflow, and cooling are required. You would have to be willing to compromise.

I'm sorry, don't get me wrong here, i don't expect the best cooling and 1dba hehe.

I'm trying to pick the best case that will suit both, good sound isolation without causing thermal problems. On top of that, i'm trying to find a bland case that people won't notice at all.

I don't think the Silverstone or the Fractal could cause thermal problems, but if the Lian Li has everything the others 2 have plus better cooling, the choice will be easy.

If you want a quiet case, then get a huge case with huge fans. Like an HAF 932.
HAF 932 is very quiet...if i didn't have an obnoxiously loud and hot 8800GTS GPU and a moderatly loud cpu cooler then the haf932 would be unheard because its fans are big, lets through air and you can slow them down to spin on lower rpm's and you won't know its on.

That's what you get when you have an open meshed case with holes everywhere. The case fans on the HAF are near silent but inside, the components' noise leaks out in every direction.

You can have a silent build with the HAF if you pick your guts carefully but of course that puts a lot of limitations in what you can put into it.

Well, i'm leaning towards the Lian Li PC-B10 right now, but there's only one thing i'm not sure about the case.

The bottom of the case doesn't seem to have vetilation for the power supply. Considering most quality power supply will come with a fan, could this cause a problem ?
