News SilverStone's new Seta H2 PC case can fit up to 15 HDDs — hefty hard drive behemoth clocks in at 70 liters and weighs over 30 lbs empty

That's like my old Lian Li file server case, except mine has room only for 6x 3.5" drives. It makes up for some of that lack of density by the drives having anti-vibration mounts and providing easy access (once you remove the side panel). Plus, it's got room for 5.25" drives, in case you want to make backups on physical media. I only bother to backup my irreplaceable stuff, which fits easily on a blu-ray disc.

Also, they talk about the case being steel like it's a good thing. For me, aluminum was a big selling point. It's better at dissipating heat, among other things. The main downside is that it scratches more easily.

I still have and use the discontinued SilverStone Fortress FT02 (90° mount motherboard). It too is a tank and built like a family heirloom, 33lbs and 65liter.

Doesn’t hold 15 drives naturally but 11, but with all the after market mounting possibilities, I’m sure it could be brought to the equivalent and then some. If I had a need for that of course.

At any rate, it appears I’m going to be stuck with this case for life. Since it’s built to withstand an apocalypse, I struggle with the idea of letting it go. Despite some of the pains I have with it’s massive length and weight which surfaces when I need to move it.
