Sims2 - direct x problems windows xp

i've intalled the sims 2 and i tryed to play it but it does'n work it says i need directx 9.0c but i've allready installed directx 9.0c, what do you think i should do?

Also make sure you have the latest video driver installed.

Install latest graphics driver and also re-install direct x 9.0c june 2010 edition.
