More info?)
I have a 648 based board, and the AGP bus works fantastically at 8x AGP.
Very stable.
I am however using an ATI based card. It may well be a unique conflict with
your nVidia unit, but unlikely.
Most saliently, amongst others, you need to install the SiS AGP drivers for
your mobo. They should have come on the driver CD you got with your
mobo/system? If it was preinstalled, you can bet your life the lazy p@#$ks
didn't bother, so you probably need other drivers as well.
For your AGP port, look under "system devices" in "device manager" and
scroll down until you see "SiS accelerated graphics port" where you'll find
the drivers listed under "properties" tab for that item. The driver provider
should be listed as SiS and they are WHQL certified.
If you can't find it a listing in system devices or the entry doesn't
represent this, then you haven't got the driver installed which is possibly
and most probably the root cause of your problem. You can download all the
required drivers for your particular mobo/chipset from gigabyte. I'd suggest
you the FAQ and for BIOS updates as well for your particular mobo to see if
there's any mention of the conflict you're experiencing.
