Skyrim is lagging on my pc..Graphic drivers are updated and all..My pc: i5 3570k,sapphire 7870 and 8gb of ram..I am trying to run on ultra..

Wow your pc really should run Ultra perhaps maybe tried dropping shadow or wind or reducing the sway of grass and trees and such that stuff takes a lot from the GPU. How much VRAM does that 7870 have?

Is your 7870 1GB or 2GB?
What kind of lagging are we talking....A stutter between actions, or a slow movement?
Use Catalyst Control Center and have it open to the performance/AMD Overdrive tab while running the game
Check your GPU and Memory Clock
Use fraps to do a benchmark while in game
You should not be lagging in that game and Vsync disabling can cause more problems.
Good luck

Yeah, how can disabling vsync cause more problems? I'm just curious, I read it does more good for Skyrim. :)

Well my card is the ghz OC edition and it has 2gb..
Also I don't know why it lags? It's like slow movement..I really don't have troubles in games..Just Skyrim :O
I read on internet and well many people have problem with Skyrim..Even on good pc's..I think mine should be enough to max it..
Also what AA should I use? x16 or?i don't know about that option really

Try going into the skyrim menu before hitting play where you choose your resolution and such and select default see or get the system or game to recommend settings then take note of it try it see if it works then get off he game and adjust settings and see which settings is causing the issue could be a as simple as that and you just never know. I have a GTX 670 FTW+ 4GB I didn't even want to leave for any chances especially with mods got quite a few.

that is weird. I play skyrim on my friend pc his spec is i3, GTX 650(1gb ddr5), 8gb of ram. the game can run on ultra setting everything maxed. AAx4, AFx2.

maybe you need to update your skyrim to the latest, steam usually automatically update it. or wrong graphic card driver.

Hmm...try reinstalling all your drivers double checking everything. I had a slightly similar issue with the game not performing but something was missing so I went through my CD case pulled out the GPU and MOBO driver discs reinstalled everything then updated to the latest drivers again afterward and my issues went away. Plus making sure you have the latest update for skyrim on top of the latest updates in general for your OS sometimes certain updates may conflict with the performance of certain devices under certain situations. Try it out and see. I really hope this helps.

Thanks guys for the help,I will try all solution now,as I am back from summer holidays and will tell you the results, once again thanks
