Sleeving front panel connectors

Hi, guys!

I would like to sleeve my front panel connectors (Power button, Power LED etc.). I have found some videos how to sleeve fan and molex cables, but I cannot find anything on FP connectors. Is it even possible to sleeve them? If yes, then how?

They make such a mess, everything else is sleeved so nicely.

It is possible. You just need to remove the connectors on the end of the cables. This can be done with a small hobby knife. If you look at the side of the connector, there is generally a small metal tab. If you push the wire into the connector a bit, then depress said tab, you can remove the pins. It often takes a bit of work.

BE SURE TO NOTE THE LOCATION OF EACH WIRE.

After you sleeve the cable, reattach the connectors.

You could also go with spiral wrap. It would negate the need to remove the connectors and gives a very neat look. Here is a link to a website showing it:

I wrapped/sleeved my cables in insulation tape once to keep them tidy, Black ofc 😛
