Hi... bit of an over thinking builder here.
So I have a Zotac 1080 Ti AMP! Extreme Core edition in use, but since I've been looking a cheaper option to buy another set of 1080 Ti, I realized the AMP! Extreme edition was available.

So in straight question, can these two similar yet different GPU sli together? Cause I know the regular AMP Extreme has different physique than the AMP Extreme Core.

I currently am using this a my render tower.

CPU: i7 6700 -> i7 8700
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VIII Ranger -> Asus ROG Strix Z390-E
Ram: 32gb Klevv
SSD/HDD: Samsung evo 850 500gb & 2 WD purple 2tb
GPU: Zotac gtx 1080 Ti AMP! Extreme Core Edition
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2, 80+ GOLD 750W -> any good 1000w
Chassis: Nzxt H700
OS: Win 10

My PSU is currently 1years old, but imma gonna change it to 1000w, possibly a NZXT model.

Solution
I wouldn't bother with SLI unless there is a specific app or game that can use it well, which is very very few. Most games either get only a small increase in performance or in alot of cases get a decent loss of performance while SLI is enabled.

It is always better to buy a newer better card, but at 1080ti there's not much better and IMO your card is still more then enough on its own.

So is that a yes or a no on the hardware compatibility? ;;;
