Sorry for my bad english but here goes

I have a GTX 970 strix that displays garbage after 30-45mins of use and shows driver issues. Yeah its broken we tried it with my friend's rig too

Rma isnt possible because I bought it 2nd hand in Canada (no receipt) it served me for only 6month. I reside in the Philippines

Someone told me it can be fixed but the life of the gpu will be really short. He also told me that people are buying gpu with this kind of issue to use it for sli. Having to learn that made me think of getting a new one as of using my current gpu(gtx 970) as a secondary gpu for sli but will not be using the display. As ive known instead of buying a 1070 a sli 970 is better in terms of performance.

I just need some second opinion about this cause Im not really sure if it would work. A reply would be fantastic thanks.

Sticking it in sli is not going to fix a fault. Also sli comes with many drawbacks, all well documented if you search. Because of the drawbacks which includes some games don't support sli I would much rather a 1070 than sli 970's. Also the 1070 has twice the VRAM and better DX12 support

@sizzling with that said Im actually contented with the 970's performance. Im gonna use the newer gtx 970's display getting more power from the old one. Would it still display garbage? If I do that?
