Slow down of win8.1

Basically my desktop runs windows 8.1 pretty fast.Boots within 4seconds but recently it has become slower and the programs hangs sometimes.My specs are:
intel i5 4440S 2.8Ghz
8 GB RAM
1 TB HDD
Operating system : Windows 8.1 latest with updates .

MY question is whether there is any way to resolve this or i will got to windows 7.

Hi there Goutam_4,

Slower boot times could indicate some HDD related issues.

It may be a good idea to test it and see if this is the case: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
If there is something wrong with the drive, I would advise you to back up the data stored on it.

In case the drive is in a healthy state, you can go to Resource Monitor and see if you are getting some high usage of some of the components.
