I went on speedtest and checked out my internet. It came back 850DL - 250UP. When i try and download anything off of Google Chrome its so slow. Its hovers around the 100kb-250kb mark. Does anyone know why and how to fix it pls.

Solution
In this case the choice of browser is going to to absolutely nothing. You are rate limited by the site itself and there is nothing you can do about it. This is how the net works, you only go as fast as the machine on the other end of the connection.

Could be a few things.

Is your HDD/SSD near full capacity? You should try and maintain at least 15% free space on any drive

Speedtests are unrealistic of transfer speeds you will get from most websites because sites will have transfer rate caps to keep their bandwidth costs down.

I have 890GB used of 1TB. Is Google Chrome just slow for downloading? I download 50GB games on Steam in like 30-45 mins.

What browser do you recommend?

It doesn't matter. Use Firefox or Internet Explorer. I'm simply asking how do you know your downloads are slow with Chrome? You only used a speedtest website and Steam for comparison and neither of those are good comparisons. As Ive been trying to tell you, websites will more often then not limit the download speed of users to save on their bandwidth and server costs. Without comparing two different browsers, downloading from the same website, downloading the same file I dont know how you know your downloads are slow with Chrome.
