Hello. I am using ethernet wire to stay connected to the internet, but for the last 2 days, my torrent download speed gets up until max 100kb/s and my internet tests show me 80+mbs.. and i dont know what to do to get my speed back.

Solution
Its okay, found the solution. INTERNET BILL. at 10th february if i wont pay, they would not let me use internet anymore until i pay, so i went and paid. 10mb/s.
Assuming its not your ISP throttling you, check you're firewall settings. Lookup your torrent client of choice and see if there are specific options that need to be allowed through. Ran in to the same issue on one computer but not the other. Identical OS, client and antivirus. For some reason one client stepped me through he process of setting allowances in the firewall, the other didn't. The one that didn't gave me pretty much the same results you're running in to.

Okay so what am i suppose to check at firewall exactly? And i dont know why but my ethernet seems like it s a public network. But it isnt, its privite. And realized only my torrent does this. Steam downloads with 7mb/s.

Windows 10, i guess thats what you ask, and i use Bittorent, i deleted uTorrent after having this issue, and same at bittorent also. actually the speed came up till 1,5mb than went down to 5kb.

Second, lets see if you're client is allowed through your firewall.
Click the start menu and type in "Windows Firewall". This will bring up your firewall control panel.
In the upper left hand corner clock on "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall"
From there, find your bittorrent clients name. Check the boxes for Private. For instance my firewall as three listings BitTorent (username), BitTorent (TCP-In) (Username), and BitTorrent (UDP-In) (Username).

That should be all you need. Cant hurt to do a restart, then test out you're speeds.

I dont know whats AV, and im using only Avast, actually after i installed avast my speed got up to 600kb/s. But still, 6mb/s steam and 600kb/s torrent is really weird. I still think there s a problem.

Oh hush you, it was a billing issue not a throttling cuz of tormenting. I'm gonna call it a tie 😛
