Question Slow import text files

Hello everyone, I have an old application based on Filemaker pro 6 (on Windows platform) for populate its internal tables, uses text files containing up to 50000 lines. The import time take from 3 minutes to 6 minutes (depending on the type of computer it is installed on). I ask you: Do you think there is a way to speed up this process by changing paging, cache or other?

That is almost certainly a case of poor data structure.
Not the hardware.

As above. A poorly designed structure. Also, the number of fields per each of those 50,000 lines plays a huge part.
