I just bought a new pc and the hd i'm using is brand new but it doens't feels like a new pc. On my old pc a Atlhon 64 3200 explorer would open in 1-2 sec, now on the new pc it takes 15 even more sec to open. Took 16min to extract a DVD.

my OS is on the Seagate and about the driver I installed the latest version on intel website.

Theres a option on the bios tha i can pick enchanced IDE or AHCI and i thing that might be wrong, but i dont know which one is right

AHCI is the setting that allows the system to take advantage of the SATAII features like NCQ. You have to turn it on prior to initializing the drive and you have to load the AHCI drivers during the F6 portion of the OS load.

Am i correct in assuming that it's a fresh OS install? If it is, check and make sure that DMA is enabled.
