hi,i bought a refurbished pc came with a wif adapter the same as the one is this link.
at start it seemed ok,was able to watch videos on youtube, just noticed today was slow loading pages.
done speed test and kept resulting around 0.20 mbps.
i put in my other adapter i use on different pc and was getting result of around 150mbps.
anyone any clues why this would be?
its on windows 11

hi,no didnt do that,it came with windows 11.
whats advantage of doing that?
ive just tried the problem adapter in other pc,and slow there too.
It depends on the "refurb" aspect, and who did it and how.

I've had refurb laptops and PC where the OS install was very dodgy.

But if the problem moves with the adapter, then the adapter is likely the problem.

Windows can be to "helpful?" at times. It might be connecting to the router using different setting or maybe the other radio band. Hard to say you can replace a networks card with exactly the same part number and it will create a new network interface.

If it is not a simple setting it likely is a bad wifi module. Luckly wifi adapters have gotten very cheap. I would look for one based on intel ax210. This is wifi6e. You of course will not be able to use wifi6e unless your router is also wifi6e. Mostly I recommend this because there is almost no difference in the cost between these cards and older ones. The ax210 chipset can also talk to older types of wifi routers.

Internal wifi pcie based cards tend to work much better. You can get some quality USB wifi dongle devices but you must be very careful. Most the USB based wifi are designed for usage cases where physical small size and battery life are more important than performance. You can get quality wifi USB dongle designed for desktop use. Most these tend to be larger and have long USB cables so you can place the device away from the metal case. All those tiny ones that you see for not even $5 are garbage.
