Slowing down?

If I have a sata600 ssd, a normal sata300 hdd, and a sata bluray drive on 1 sata600 controller will the speed go down because of the slower hardware???

I'm pretty sure it's like any hardware: You're only as fast as your slowest part.

I thought so yeah, that sucks because there are not that many am3(+) motherboards with 2 controllers for sale anymore. There used to be much more. (At least in my area this appears to be so)

No, your speeds will not slow down.

AM3+ motherboards have only one controller (AMD), but the 6 SATA 3 (6Gb/s) ports operate independently.

So your SSD, HDD & Blu-ray will operate at advertised speeds.
