Cave lion chasing me so, I am going for a ultimate victory so I'm being
extra careful. I open a door and what happens? Fireball trap kills the
cat.

no fair.

Sorry for my bluntness, but you are wrong. It is 100% fair
in every sense of the word. You attempt to open a closed
door = you take a calculated risk. You could have
backtraced in "known" territory and lost the cat in a
harmless room, but decided to venture ahead. Hence it is
your own fault. For reference I _never_ spare cats. I
simply kill them on sight. I do not wish to endanger
myself for the RotMC. I have simply not found it
worthwhile. The master kitty is not as hard a kill as many
think being vulnerable to poison, paralysis and death rays
(the last being IIRC as I have killed him multiple times
and don't exactly recall every single incident. Never
worked up a sweat though)..

Whoa champ, I wasnt demanding any RFE to stop that kind of thing, I was
just lamenting my misfourtune. If you were ever trying to keep the
kitties alive, and something like that happens you would be annoyed
too.

With the recent hard language in some posts I should
perhaps have chosen my words more carefully. I am
sympathetic to your annoying loss and I can certainly feel
your pain. In fact it is similar incidents that eventually
led me to abandon the RotMC quest altogether.

I was simply trying to give a new light on the matter by
pointing out that it is not unfair, but merely
unfortunate.

I sincerely thought my post was a reasonably neutral
"cheer up - it happens to anybody but the extremely
careful" post. Guess I was mistaken....

You trigger, you kill. That's the way it is ;-)
