I like the suggestion to put all the cheaters on the one server. Woah a fleet just go wiped out by a rabid SCV. Might be fun as spectator, but then quickly boring.

If you get banned, you should get a full refund of the game. But they don't do that for whatever reason. SOunds illegal.

I suspect that they don't do that because...
a. It would decrease their revenue...and...
b. If you break their EULA, you lose your license to the game. You break the terms, you don't get your money back. Also, That would just encourage cheating. There would be much less of a penalty to it.

You people saying they should get refunded are nuts! I say ban ALL their Blizzard/Battle.net accounts (WoW, SC, Diablo when it's out etc) if they are caught cheating. THAT would discourage even more people from doing it than just the normal ban cycles. Especially since most 1st time offenders only get the 30 day ban and a record reset. They should AT LEAST have some sort of dishonourable/cheater tag on their name when they come back after their 30 days.

[citation][nom]Ramar[/nom]Dude Xerroz you sound SO HXC FOR REAL. Can you please teach the rest of us to be ball-less asshats like you that probably bring a crowbar to a fist fight? If you'd ever lived in the real world you'd realize people with your attitude don't last long.[/citation]
you just got trolled son

[citation][nom]XZaapryca[/nom]NOCD hacks are the best and should be allowed, a game that doesn't require a CD for play is even better.Hacks are fun for about an hour, on a private server, with your buddies, and then it's played out. They really kill the game and the balance the developers were going for. Blizzard should do whatever it takes.[/citation]

Sounds like someone doesn't own better yet have even played the game. I think if your ban you maybe able to play offline only. The game is great but multi and custom is what will be the things that makes the game last long after the campaign.

Ow, my pride. =[ Guess I believed it because I've actually met people like that.

Permanent ban? Ouch... No mercy, No forgiveness?

no healthy and loving relationships without forgiveness. Feel sorry for those curious little kids.

I first got my hax0r experience when playing FEAR online. I thought I was going to be so good, and I never even got close to the mass amount of cheaters. Never played anything multiplayer again.

So with how SC2 is set up, that means if they are caught cheating in MP, that they won't be able to access the game at all, losing their ability to play single player?

[citation][nom]RicardoK[/nom]Actually, you can change your MAC address by hand. Just to to the MAC Settings of your router and, done.[/citation]
Either way your MAC does not necessarily need to propagate all the way to the server. The server will usually see the MAC of its nearest router on your packets (which, in most cases, is not YOUR router).

[citation][nom]azcoyote[/nom]This is a great idea.... I have lost track of the games that stopped being fun thanks to cheaters.... HL2 and Blackhawk Down come to mind...[/citation]

Add MW2 to this list as well for me!

Why play a game cheating, seriously. If some poeple can't play the game as its designed then they should just accept their a looser rather than trying to fool themselves into believing their "leet" atleast until the day their busted...

Keep on fighting the cheaters Blizzard *thumbs up* Hope they loose access to all games under the battle.net account not just the one beeing cheated in!

[citation][nom]soccerplayer88[/nom]Personally I'd like to see their MAC addresses banned as well. So if they want to play/try to hack again they need to purchase a new router/modem.[/citation]

Actually banning by mac address wouldn't work.

Each ethernet device in between bnet and the gamer replaces the source address field in the ethernet frame with its own mac address.

Blizzard would only see the most previous written mac address, which would probably be their gateway or ISP. It would be the same every time.

Banning someones IP would work better, but you can still change your IP.

I know that if I change my mac address(yes you can change that too) and reconnect it changes my IP.

and thats why i buy blizzard games, i bought mw2 but that was a big waste of cash, wont make that mistake again! especially with the new cod coming, ill just stick with starcraft2 and wow :)

whatif it's jsut cheating in the single player campaign (via console comands) , like the "oh hum , i just beat the game lets see what the cheats do now " sort of cheating... if every one at blizzard says they never did this kind of "screw around" fun cheating on any game ,then they are full poop!
