What do I do? The motherboard has USB 3.0 in the back I/O. Do I pass the cable through the case to the back? Or just not use it at all. Which is safer. I haven't built my computer yet.

Solution
Hi MatTech
there is an alternative , you can get a usb3 to usb2 adaptor cable such as this one
usb3-usb2-b__06276_zoom.jpg

you will have usb2 speeds but for a front panel if only using usb sticks you will be fine
if you wish to connect a usb 3.0 HDD connect it to your USB3.0 on your Motherboards I/O

The Mobo has no onboard, but in the back where the io shield is located.

And so I just route the cable through one of the grommets in the back and bend the wire around to plug into the io?

Nvm I had a blonde moment and thought the usb 3.0 connector looked just like a female usb 3.0 and could plug it into the back io. Nvm.
