We have been asked to build a Socket 939 AMD 64 3500+ system. We're currently looking at using the Gigabyte GA-K8NSNXP-939 board. We havn't used this board before. Can anyone tell us their views on this board or are there better boards and if so for what reason(s)? thx barrada.

With those stats it will prob be used for gaming?
For future video card upgrades you should consider using an NF4 board with PCIe. I personally prefer Abit or DFI. Both mfrs make feature rich and stable boards. I've seen some people leery about the DFI support being overseas, but I've been reading they're doing a great job. The DFI UT nF4 Ultra is really popular right now becasueit can easily be modded to an SLI.

If you need to save money, I would go with a regular k8ns socket 939 combo deal with athlon 64 3000 from pricewatch. They run about $235. Agp will be around awhile. Current agp cards run about the same speed as pci-e, and by the time you replace your cpu, you'll need a new board anyway.
