Has anyone had any experience of using copper shim, they are suppose to protect AMD chip cores from being crushed by too much pressure...

Keep in mind that all the test from the link above are done on intel CPU's the Amd's stil use a ceramic packaging that most likley will not result in the same heat transfers from the mobo.

Well looks like we have an answer use the shim and protect your cpu from being crushed and run hotter or dont and be carefull on how you apply the heat sink and run cooler (I would run cooler).

P.S. You may want to bend the retention clip slightly to reduce the presure on the core.
