Hello, I need help please.

I sold my RAM to someone then later asking me to return it because it was incompatible, I was kind enough to have it returned as long as it is still working as I said to them

but now since it is not working ( PC powers on then shuts down again and then powers on ) I need help with your advice.

We sent them a full video of the RAM working as it was going through the windows 10 boot logo.

I could tell the shop from where I bought it then have them fixed it via warranty. I said them that It was working and now it is not.

I just summaried my actions.

Looks to me like something is wrong.
The top ram stick definitely looks damaged.
I see scruff marks and damage.
The top stick is a ddr3 stick.

What I can't understand is how the serial numbers can be the same.
Are you certain that YOU did not make a mistake and send a DDR3 part by mistake?

As to not working, you should not have been able to install the ddr3 stick in your motherboard which is presumably a ddr4 motherboard

Just to clarify that they did not fit the RAM in, if you don't see a crack, or a chipped off pin, or the RAM did not come in broken around 4 pieces they did not fit the RAM. Would suspice carrying conditions. RAM slots are made foolproof. Even a bird would realize they're fitting it wrong.

Whos's picture is that? is it theirs saying it isn't the same, or is it your picture compared to theirs?
It was their picture. They said their friend built their PC for them, well I say their friend is **** lol. I was able to see the difference within a second from both of our RAMs. Also If I may add, they contacted their friend about the RAM of mine before they bought it saying it was not compatible to their PC. Their friend said "Maybe it isn't DDR4", LOL, even I'm a noobie computer geek MY first lesson was all about RAM and their COMPATIBILITIES. (but backflipping a RAM is a new word for me yesterday.)

If all DDR4 is compatible to other DDR4 sticks, why won't their RAM fit with mine right? I've been using the A320 pro vh-plus mobo from MSI and it is a DDR4 mobo.

They might have just dropped the RAM before they installed it, that is one of the possibilities from my mind.

All signs point to you getting scammed.

Sell DDR4, they swap around the visual heatsink, send you back DDR3 wth a stick on label stating DDR4, claiming 'it does not work'.

Warranty is off the table...you have nothing to send back to the manufacturer.

I accept that as a possibility, but these people that I'm dealing with knows very little of computers. The buyer is a young boy who just wanted to add RAM on his mom's computer so he can play games. His mother is the one contacted me to return the item. I think they can't easily remove the heat spreaders on the RAM, just maybe though.

I just wanted the money in order to cover up the remaining costs from what I've spent on my new computer monitor.

The boy may not have known about PC hardware, but I know a guy, that knows a guy, that knows a guy...

If they cannot fit it both side, there might be a problem with their carrying. They might have dropped it after I sold it to them?

Even if they said that it isn't compatible with the motherboard they have, they might have used other motherboards that I don't know.

There is no way to know what they did, there is just a bunch of guessing. They may have dropped it, they may have tried to install it the wrong way, they may have done a lot of other things. You have the RAM back, contact warranty support for it and get it replaced.

we've been continuously arguing recently that I sell my components fully working with proofs, but they stated that they didn't installed the RAM because it wasn't compatible. They have a DDR4 Kingston RAM just like mine but it is 4gb and the interesting part is, the notch (The small space somewhere) is on the other location compared to mine. How is that a thing? If they have a DDR4 memory then it should be compatible right??

This is why i record a quick clip of the component working, then being uninstalled and put into shipping box, and state that the product is sent fully working and there will be no refunds for any reason if the returned component is not working.

Either way, it should have been their responsibility when I gave it to them by the very first touch of it.

I'm going to the shop this week with my pc and show them the problem with the RAM to work it out about its warranty.

What happens when I installed the RAM?
When I installed the RAM, it doesn't show any display on the monitor, even my keyboard and mouse doesn't light up, but before that the pc was continuously switching on and off on the first attemt I installed it. Maybe I just didn't properly installed the RAM. Tried Diff slots but no luck.

I told them if there is any problem with the RAM, I'll contact them and then I did. I agree it is our responsibility now, and we are still making an agreement about this.

I'm still going to the shop and ask for a warranty.
