I'm routing Sky via a Neet HDMI to Cat6 (here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Neet®-Extender-network-Whiteline-cables/dp/B002ECYEYA) from the lounge upstairs to a plasma in the master bedroom. The route is (roughly) 15 to 20m max. There will be a few runs of this to other rooms, up walls, under floor boards etc.
I'll be purchasing Cat6 shielded as recommended by Neet. (an example is here: 100m Category 6 Shielded Violet FTP LSZH Ethernet Lead Network Lan Cable CAT6 | eBay My questions are:
Cat6 Shielded SOLID or STRANDED? I've read conflicting reports regarding maximum length of stranded cable. I've also read there are issues with terminating solid cable v.s stranded - has anyone successfully terminated solid cable ok?
I've not had the opportunity to handle a cable of this type so can't vouch for its flexibility. Again, I assume stranded is slightly more flexible?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, especially if anyone has used the above products.
