solution needed for laptop

my laptop has no ssd port. can I use ssd on my laptop?

Does your laptop have a SATA port for a hard drive? If so, there are 2.5" SSDs which connect the exact same way with SATA as a 2.5" hard drive would, you'd just have to take the hard drive out and put an SSD in instead.

How much byte-space on the platter-driven hard-drive is taken up by the OS, 3rd party stuff, data folders, files, etc.? How large is the present hard-drive? It might not be workable to purchase a too-small SSD if the platter-driven HD is much larger and is nearly full.
