Solution to corrupted and unreadable file

External hard drive

it reads the computer but cannot open the drive the message display as " file is corrupted and unreadable.

can you help to solve my problem

Can you please be more specific? Models and versions of hard drives and OS. Also what do you mean it reads the computer? The hard drive "reads"? It is usually the other way around... Also the computer cannot recognise the hard drive or a single file?

i cannot specify the versions, when you plug to any computer it reads and when you try to open it display the message "file corrupted and unreadable".

But i don't have the data recovery software and how will i use this software.

If the files are already corrupted they cannot be recovered. Your best option is to reformat the drive and try and use some restore software to se if you can at least recover some fo the good files
