[SOLVED] Can't install fonts / custom fonts don't appear in hl2, gmod and fistful of frags

Can't install fonts / custom fonts don't appear in games

I tried so hard to fix this, it just seems impossible
Tried to disable windows firewall
Tried converting to ttf and otf (original file was ttf)
Tried other fonts
Basically it always give the error: [the requested file: {PATH} is not a valid font file,

The games worked fine before I switched to this 2k monitor, it runs every game perfectly except hl2 and since I play gmod a lot thats kinda an issue, but not being to install fonts is a windows 10 problem and cant be caused by those games

Now I'm confused. What is your issue:
1) Games/ a specific games doesn't work in Windows 10. Fonts are a secondary issue.
2) Games work fine, game mod doesn't work. Fonts are a secondary issue.
3) Games and mods work/ don't matter. Adding fonts doesn't work.
3) Games and mods work/ don't matter. Adding fonts works, but only one specific font doesn't work.

Games work Partly, but the crosshair / kill icons appear as Q, R and other characters, which I find very annoying, the fonts is the primary issue as people who have installed the fonts have fixed the issue with these particular games.

That sounds more like a memory corruption issue than font issue. Or just shoddy programming in general.

Instead of trying to break your computer installing fonts, you can just try using compatibility settings for that particular software.

Well I tried running the games in all different windows' versions and still the custom font doesnt work

lol nvm, thanks for your help, Microsoft has really done it this time, I had to remove my custom firewall AND my antivirus and after that I could FINALLY install the fonts and everything works fine now

In other words:
1) It's NOT a Windows 10 issue
2) That file you're using is likely poorly programmed/ has a virus (basically the same thing)

lol nvm, thanks for your help, Microsoft has really done it this time, I had to remove my custom firewall AND my antivirus and after that I could FINALLY install the fonts and everything works fine now

2) That file you're using is likely poorly programmed/ has a virus (basically the same thing)

It was a Windows 10 problem, I was using comodo firewall and avast premier so it is not their fault, only Windows shitty way of verifying fonts
