Hello guys! I have a Dell Dimension 4600i computer with a A12 Bios version. This is the latest bios for this system. The problem is that the bios setup, time and date, reset themselves when the computer is unplugged. I tried changing the motherboard battery but that did not work. The battery had the proper voltage. I also tried re-installing the bios but it is the same problem. Please help!

I actually solved the problem. Even though the computer was running the last bios version (A12), I re-install the D4600A12 bios from Dell D4600:

http://www.dell.com/support/home/uk/en/ukdhs1/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=R84099&fileId=2731130284&osCode=WW1&productCode=dimension-4600&languageCode=EN&categoryId=BI

Since the bios file is not executable from the operation system, I had to create a bootable disk and insert the bios executable D4600A12.EXE. After reinstalling the bios, everything is fine. The settings are saved even though the AC cord is unplugged. I hope this helps to somebody else! Thanks!
