Hi. For about 3 days I can't get video/audio calls to work on Facebook or Messenger apps. I make a call, it rings the other end, they answer but I get a black screen (the camera and mike are on - I can see MY video) and that's it. Sometimes I hear it ringing out, sometimes not. They can't see or hear me and I can't see or hear them. Same happens on the equivalent browser websites.

I completely uninstalled then re-installed both Facebook & Messenger apps, but the problem remains. Video/audio calling on Skype and WhatsApp works fine.

I turned off Adguard and Avast AV and tried Brave & Edge browsers but that made no difference.

I'm at a total loss. Any ideas would be most welcome.

Thanks helpstar. Permission is granted for the camera and mike but to no avail.
It appears that it was indeed Adguard. I'm 100% sure I disabled it to no avail, but I just tried it again and got it working.

Thanks for your suggestions helpstar much appreciated.

And I will ask "who is on the other end"?

"They" being mulitple contacts or just one contact in particular?

Not expecting a direct, personal information type answer per se.

Just wondering what they have done, tried to do, or not done?

Take a look in Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for error codes, warnings, or even informational events being logged whe Facebook and Messenger fail.

Compare what (if anything) if found to what is found when Skype and WhatsApp succeed.

Could be some related background app and/or something being triggered by Task Scheduler when Facebook and Messenger are launched.
