Hello guys,

I've been struggling with really low fps delivered by my new rig. I'm using the game DOOM as the main example right now.

Link to my nightmares: http://

There's constant dips from 70 all the way to sometimes 20 fps, there are really rare moments where it runs at 100-144 fps. I don't think that there should be such dramatic drops happening not just from time to time, but ALL the time...

I have ran virus testing, all kinds of scanning, the computer is clean.

Could it be some sort of bottlenecking? I don't think so...

I have a brand new EVGA SuperClocked GTX 1080, fresh out of the box and I'm speechless, i expected to have at least a solid 100 fps with this card, please help me guys, what am i missing ?

I have an Acer Predator 144hz 2560x1440 gsync monitor, running on windows 10 with an i7-5960x 8-core processor and 64gb of Corsair Vengeance RAM (i need that much, cause i also work as an animator)

The computer is new.

I've tried running Doom on other settings than Ultra, there's almost no difference, the problem is somewhere else and i don't know where, i've tried turning off Vsync, turning off Gsync, reset the Nvidia 3D settings to default, i tried running on Vulkan, no difference.
There's moments where my fps goes down to 30 and that's when i start to think if life is even worth living... what is it that I'm missing here?

Maybe some of my hardware is faulty?

I deinstalled my GPU Drivers with DDU, installed the current latest one which is 376.09
Windows updates are all up to date.

Today while looking into forums i noticed a guy linking a screenshot of the PCI slot he has connected his GPU to and saw that mine isn't the same, might this be cause?

I am not the most experienced with all this, maybe I'm missing something, please guys, anything you can suggest...

Edit 1: Just recorded this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuxwCS-bUJA what's going on, my CPU drops dramatic frames from a single staggering shot on an Imp, im so confused

Solution: I had to have my GPU at the top slot, mine was on the one below. <<<<< !!!! L O L

I'm not experienced with these parts at all, but I was reading another thread where someone was having similar problems but different components and I think that this may help your problems. I think what's happening is that the GPU is only working to get you these frames and it's causing some issues because the GPU can't run all of those settings by itself, so I think it has something to do with VSync. If you have VSync on, turn it off and see if that does anything for you.

Hey, the Vsync off was the first thing i tried, i actually always play games with vsync off, i have gsync on the current monitor as well, i've tried without gsync or vsync and all the other options, no results :(
