[SOLVED] Memory Placement for Quad Channel Mobo

Hello,

I came across the ASUS P9X79 Deluxe motherboard which supports quad channel memory access. It contains 2 banks of memory.

If I fill slots 1, 3 , 5, and 7, I will have achieved Quad Channel access for 1 of the memory banks. (Correct me if I'm wrong)


Now if I were to fill the rest of the DIMM slots labeled below, will it have the following result?

Fill slot 2 - Single Channel

Fill slot 2, 4 - Dual Channel

Fill slot 2, 4, 6 - Triple Channel

Fill slot 2, 4, 6, 8, - Quad Channel

My suspicions were correct. After doing some in depth research, filling the ram slots in that order will effectively change the memory access channel number.
