Looking for a solid board to install my recently bought (used) 2600. The same board might accomodate a 3600 in the coming 3 months, as well.

I'm not looking for wifi, leds and all that gimmicks. Just good VRMs and a decent price. Size preference is toward mATX, but ATX is ok for my box as well.

I can find a new ASRock B450M Pro4 (mATX) at the same price as an MSI B450 (ATX) Gaming Plus, which one would you recommend? Looking also for a (used) MSI B450 Tomahawk if I can find one, any other board suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

I have an Asus ROG Strix B450-F Gaming MB and I can definitely recommend it for use with a Ryzen 5 2600.
It handles my OC'd 2600 and RAM without any problems and stays very cool.
See my signature for my full specs.
And I have no doubt that it will work very well with a Ryzen 5 3600 or a Ryzen 7 3700x if/when I am ready to upgrade in 6 months or so.
It doesn't have on board WIFI but you can always buy a PCI-E Wi-Fi card to use with it.
When I built my current rig my other choices would have been the MSI B450 Tomahawk or the MSI B450 Pro Carbon Pro AC.
I ended up choosing the ROG Strix B450-F Gaming because I got it on sale for $90.
The fact that it has an extremely configurable BIOS was a definite bonus though.
According to most reviews...

According to most reviews the MSI boards I listed have slightly better VRMs but from my experience so far with my motherboard, my VRM will not be an issue for any CPU up to a 3700x and would probably be fine even for a 3800x.
