Hello, I've been playing steam games for a while and for most of my games I am getting issues where my game Freezes, then I get a black screen while sound goes on for a bit, and then comes back. It's very annoying when you just want to play... This only happens on a few games like, L4D2, Dungeon Defenders, Skyrim, Spiral Knights, Tribes Ascend. But I NEVER happens on BFBC2, very rarely happens on Orcs Must Die 2, and CS : GO. It's very weird and I don't understand... I have tried everything so far, everything I could do... I've cleaned my PC, Formatted my PC, completed many troubleshooting's for the games, and much more.

Here are my specs:

Windows 7 Professional
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 240 Processor 2.80 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
64-bit
AMD Radeon HD 6670
1600 x 900 (60Hz)

If you require more info. please let me know.

I also sometimes on my monitor randomly goes to sleep when I am playing a game, I have no clue why but if u know how to fix it let me know also. I have already tried the High Performance thing it has reduced it by a bit so that's good. but if there is no solution its fine. I am more concerned about the freezing, its so annoying...

Thanks!

Aww.. :(
Many people have problem like that one.
Maybe its a driver issue.
Never found a fix for that yet.

Ask some more people in the forum, they might know it.

If u r system (processor, gpu, smps)fan has any damage the system overheat quickly so protect from more damage the system shutdown without any error message like bluescreen message.
so check all fans are working correctly and clean the dust from cpu.

Try this :-

Start Fraps (Or any other FPS Recorder)

Play game like Skyrim (Anything else will also work)

Keep the settings on lowest possible (Record your fps)
Keep the settings on Medium (Record your fps)
Keep the settings on Ultra\High (Record your fps)

Then share here.
"Record" means that remember what fps you got in those settings ;)
Try this thing atleast in 2-3 games.
If possible then try it on these games: Skyrim, CS:GO & BFBC2

I can't even play Skyrim because I freeze during the FIRST start scene :\ and get not responding. And yes I have tried playing Skyrim with lowest settings possible.
But here are my FPS for CS : GO and BFBC2

CS : GO I get an average of 60 FPS (Couldn't find graphic settings for CS:GO)

BFBC2:
Low: Around 40
Medium: Around 50 FPS
High: Around 40 FPS

So my apparently this is my temps for my comp.

Motherboard - 77 Degrees Celsius
CPU - 69 Degrees Celsius
CPU #1 / Core #1 - 71 Degrees Celsius
CPU #1 / Core #2 - 71 Degrees Celsius
Aux - 45 Degrees Celsius

I have no clue if this is accurate or not because I am using Everest Ultimate, but let me know if I should overclock. (Don't know how yet would have to search)
And I have 3 fans + power supply.

Load Temps or Idle?

Should be Load temps
Well, then don't Overclock.

As you mentioned above that you Cleaned your PC.
You cleaned the Heatsink? The place between the CPU and CPU Fan?

That usually collects tons of Dust and get Hot.
Happened with me before.

I should also note that when I freeze after it has recovered I get, "AMD Drivers stopped responding and has restored successfully" I have googled it and tried some things but it has never fixed it.
