this is old news, i remember the discussion for this back in the 80's back when the pope was scolding madonna for blasphemous music and videos they were designed to provoke and contest thought back then. the apple was designed to say exactly what it portrays, mankind choose knowledge over a life of animal nature existence/eden. was that choice so bad?

why is this making news now? did some cult long forgotten turn up from under a rock after leaving society for 30 years?

[citation][nom]john_4[/nom]FRom reading the anti-faith posts here there will be many here whaling and gnashing their teeth on judgement day, Fools.[/citation]

You are right about that, most have made other choices that in the end are going to hurt. Most people including the hypocrites in the churches have chosen the world over God and will go down with it. Plus people also put their faith in money and things when it can rust, be moth eaten, and be taken by a thief.

[citation][nom]jankeke[/nom]2Well we don't have an awful lot of faith in .... faith. If it were to make sense and not be self-contradictory then ... oh no, I did it again : trying to argue with a religious zealot.Arguing with a Christian is like playing chess with a pigeon. You could be the greatest player in the world, but the pigeon will still knock over all the pieces, shit on the board and strut around triumphantly.[/citation]

you still come out aHEAD with a christian compared to a muslim
Terrorize and behead those who believe in scriptures other than
the Qur’an.

[citation][nom]mrpanch[/nom]In fact, religion in Russia at the moment is not what it should be. The church is mired in sin and controls the state with Putin. All intelligent people, or at least those who have the opportunity to leave the state. The church became corrupt and do not brings light. People really do not like it, but discontent suppressed by the state. So it's not as funny as you think.[/citation]

LETTERS
"THE PRIEST HAS BEEN
HOSTILE TO LIBERTY"
To Horatio Gates Spafford
(March 17, 1814)
......We are certainly much indebted to you for this fund of valuable information. I join in your reprobation of our merchants, priests, and lawyers, for their adherence to England and monarchy, in preference to their own country and its Constitution. But merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own. It is easier to acquire wealth and power by this combination than by deserving them, and to effect this, they have perverted the purest religion ever preached to man into mystery and jargon, unintelligible to all mankind, and therefore the safer engine for their purposes. With the lawyers it is a new thing. They have, in the Mother country, been generally the firmest supporters of the free principles of their constitution. But there too they have changed. I ascribe much of this to the substitution of Blackstone for my Lord Coke, as an elementary work. In truth, Blackstone and Hume have made tories of all England, and are making tories of those young Americans whose native feelings .of independence do not place them above the wily sophistries of a Hume or a Blackstone. These two books, but especially the former, have done more towards the suppression of the liberties of man, than all the million of men in arms of Bonaparte and the millions of human lives with the sacrifice of which he will stand loaded before the judgment seat of his Maker. I fear nothing for our liberty from the assaults of force; but I have seen and felt much, and fear more from English books, English prejudices, English manners, and the apes, the dupes, and designs among our professional crafts. When I look around me for security against these seductions, I find it in the wide spread of our agricultural citizens, in their unsophisticated minds, their independence and their power, if called on, to crush the Humists of our cities, and to maintain the principles which severed us from England. I see our safety in the extent of our confederacy, and in the probability that in the proportion of that the sound parts will always be sufficient to crush local poisons. In this hope I rest, and tender you the assurance of my esteem and respect.

I do not find in orthodox Christianity one redeeming feature.

Apple's symbol cant have anything to do with the name of the company?!?! lol Also this except (sorry if already posted): 'Not so, says the man who actually created the logo, graphic designer Rob Janoff, who laughs it off as "a wonderful urban legend." The concept was purely visual in inspiration, he says, with the bite taken out only to provide scale so the apple wouldn't be mistaken for a cherry.'

[citation][nom]BigMack70[/nom]I understand your point, but I gotta pick on your choice of quotes😛eople didn't like Jesus either... they executed him. Ghandi was a bit confused on this one.[/citation]

People did like Jesus when Ghandi was around. That some people didn't like him what, two thousand years ago (or so some say) has little impact on the present and the comparatively recent past.

[citation][nom]f-14[/nom]you still come out aHEAD with a christian compared to a muslim Quran 8:12[/citation]

There is a huge difference between the radical Muslim groups and many other forms of Islam. It's not fair to generalize them and it's most certainly not fair of you to misquote that verse and pull it out of context.

I'm not religious in any form of it, but that doesn't mean that I should be as unfair as you are being.
