something to do with a previous post

Hey guys, my computer is using a KT133 chipset with a Duron 700Mhz. I read in a previous post about this tbirdinside asking some stuff about FSB. I read that VIA chipsets have this "asychronous" mode which allows PC-133 RAM to work effectively with differently clocked CPU FSBs. I got this question looming over my mind. When I tried to benchmark my PC-133 RAM using Sisoft Sandra's 2001se Standard, my rating is actually equivalent to a PC-100MHZ RAM. I want to know if anybody can explain why my PC-133 RAM is having a bandwidth similar to PC-100 RAM, and if not, does anybody think I actually bought PC-100 RAM?

Depends, did you actually go into the BIOS and set the memory to 133MHz and CPU to 100MHz? I think if you let the BIOS/mobo autodetect things it will keep them the same (100MHz) unless you explicitly tell it not to.

i guess your right, atlantix, there's no setting in the BIOS for RAM speed since it's a cheap mobos, and I guess it set the speed same to the CPU FSB.
