[SOLVED] Sometimes crashing to desktop

I think it's a crash. I'm using El Capitan and I'll be working in one of the paces when it decides to switch to the desktop space for no apparent reason. Any ideas why?

Unfortunately I don't have muchto go on either. A web browser of some form is open and in use at the time though

The touchpad can be quite sensitive to swipes, scrolls, pinches etc.
Sure you aren't inadvertently swiping a few fingers up or down the trackpad?
Don't have my mbp handy, but a think swiping ~3 up or down shifts everything to the sides showing the desktop.
