Sony vaio desktop computer doesnt turn on

Hello,
I have a sony vaio desktop computer, had it for years with no real problem. I shut it down last night, and when I tried to turn it back on, nothing happened. I noticed a green light in the back of the computer for the power supply, unplugged it for a few minutes, till the green light when away, then plugged it back in and the green light came on, but when I pressed the button to start it up, nothing happened. Is there a way I can fix this myself, or do I have to take it to a repair shop?

Err have you tried clearing cmos and/or replacing cmos battery?
