Hi all,
I know that laptop cpu upgrade is never advised but I am out of warranty and am willing to take the chance. My Laptop is a Sony VPCEG16FM model with an i5 2410m 2nd generation intel CPU with integrated HD 3000 graphics and I wish to replace with the i5 3610me with HD4000 . I have done some research and both have the same socket, h65 chipset and max TDP 35w.

The only thing I am unsure about is whether BIOS will accept the upgrade. I have contacted Intel who are unwilling to commit to a direct answer and have advised me to contact Sony. I have contacted Sony, who for obvious reasons, seem equally reluctant to divulge any information.
Any advice please?
Benny
