In the US my Z3 is with Verizon and they refuse to push out any more updates beyond 4.4 even though Sony made 5.0 available months ago.

My next phone definitely going to he a Nexus because of the lack of updates.

Don't blame Sony. Blame Verizon, they control those updates directly once the OEM releases them to all. Don't like it, then drop Verizon.
